New Years Resolutions are not something I ever do. They are well known for people to start them in January and then last for only a few months until things go back the way they were. This year things are a little different for me. I decided to give it a try because I have been making changes in my life and I want to carry them over into 2020 so I thought this would be a good idea.
Back in November 2019 I sat down and decided I would pick 20 things for 2020. These are things I would like to change or accomplish through out the year. Some are daily changes and some are challenges. I am going to be gentle on myself. These are not set in stone. If I do not accomplish something then so be it. I think one of the reasons people give up on their resolutions is because they are too strict on themselves or they set goals that are unattainable. My goal is to work towards these goals and try my best. I will not feel guilty for not accomplishing them.
My biggest and most important goal out of all of this is to be more mindful in all aspects of my life. I want to be more mindful in how I treat myself, how I treat others, how I spend my money, the items I bring into my home and my mindset. I want to be more present, relax and experience life as it happens.
To help myself on this journey I’ve written down my 20 goals in a journal. This journal will stay on my bedside table throughout the year and I will cross off items as I go. I will also be updating my progress on Instgram (@rebekahtaylora) to make myself accountable.
