Have you ever thought about donating your gently used scrubs? If not, then you should. Back when I started working in the medical field I was allowed to wear whatever scrubs I wanted. Today that is not the case. Many healthcare companies require the staff to wear specific colors and possibly even specific brands. I am now required to wear a specific color. So I had no idea what to do with all these scrubs I accumulated over the years!
So, what did I do? I posted on Facebook to see if anybody could use them but to my surprise nobody really wanted them. I did not want to throw them away because they are in good condition. I thought about donating to the Goodwill which is always a good option but I wanted them to be given to those in need. That is when I discovered Global Link.
Developed in 1989, Global Links is a medical relief and development organization. Their focus is on supporting health improvement initiatives in resource-poor communities and promoting environmental stewardship in the US healthcare system. They will take your gently used scrubs and donate them to poor communities. They are not limited to only scrubs. They also accept medical supplies, baby supplies and even cars!
I highly recommend that you check them out! If you have anything that you would like to donate, check out their website before throwing those medical supplies in the trash! You never know who you could be helping out.
